Trinidad and Tobago’s Karate Association’s Athlete, Chelsea Mohan, and coach, Dr Nicole Lambie, proudly represented the red, white and black at the prestigious Karate 1 Series A tournament in Guadalajara, Mexico, held from July 17–19, 2026 competing alongside some of the world’s top karate athletes.

This event provided Mohan with the opportunity to measure her skills against elite international competition while earning valuable experience on the world stage. She delivered a confident and determined performance throughout the tournament, highlighting the progress she has made as one of Trinidad and Tobago’s karate athletes.

One of the highlights of her campaign was an exciting and highly competitive bout against Colombia; a thrilling contest that went down to the final point demonstrating her ability to compete toe-to-toe with high-level international opponents. The tournament marked an important milestone in Mohan’s preparation for representing Trinidad and Tobago at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in the Dominican Republic.

Despite the loss, she progresses her technical ability, resilience, and growing confidence on the international circuit. Chelsea Mohan remains focused on building on this experience and proudly flying Trinidad and Tobago’s flag on the regional and international karate stage.
